A truly eventful week, especially 22nd July, Wednesday. I tried my best to shut my eyes by 10 the night before, then gave an allowance of 11pm and subsequently, midnight. Was supposed to wake up at 8 am to bathe and get ready for MY DRIVING TEST! I thought by making myself do many things during the day would grant me a pleasant sleep at night due to all the fatigue. Unfortunately, my brain refused to succumb to my physical tiredness and as a result, I drifted in and out of sleep, scenes of 'how to do parallel parking', 'how to do reverse parking' etc. playing in my mind. I tried to lull my brain to slumber and managed to succeed eventually, after having opened my eyes for the fourth time. When I woke up the next morning, it was already 8.30 am. My head was heavy and my eyes were droopy but my sub-consciousness urged me to bathe and get ready for the long anticipated event. Baby was supposed to be at my house slightly earlier as my mum would bring us to the driving centre. However, baby was late! Thankfully, baby wasn't ultra late so the time whereby we reached the driving centre for our warm up session was just nice. Phew! I was a nervous wreck when I reached the driving centre, my heart trembling with anxiety. The warm up session was really short and I was the 2nd candidate to enter the waiting room. Chatted awhile with this malay guy who seemed even more nervous than me haha. Tried to calm his nerves by chatting with him. Eventually, baby arrived and I kept telling baby how nervous I was. Worse still, the weather wasn't in our favour... it was raining! During the warm up session I already had some difficulty looking in the wing mirror during both parkings so I was worried about my performance during my test. After awhile, my name was called. I wished baby all the best, then went along with my tester. He looked really friendly and I was comforted. True enough, he was really nice :) The whole test went by smoothly and the rain stopped halfway through my test, making it easier for me to drive outside. I really thank my daddy God for seeing me through the test, for taking over the wheels. I thank God for helping me to PASS my driving test despite the rain. I love you my daddy God :) To sum everything up, both baby and I PASSED our driving tests! X) After that, we went to celebrate. Went to PS and had pasta which was really delicious (baby who dislikes pasta also says that it's really nice haha) After that, we went to catch our Cookie Monster baby from the toy-catching machine which we've been frequenting for the past week haha. There wasn't anymore Cookie Monster left so we eventually settled for the Big Bird one. :( The sales assistant whom we're familiar with by now was really nice to us. He helped us put Big Bird on top of another toy so that it's much much easier to catch =x Finally, baby managed to catch Big Bird and later, baby surprised me with.... Cookie Monster! I was so so shocked... Baby had actually went to catch Cookie Monster 2 days before and now we've the complete set of Elmo, Cookie Monster and Big Bird! Named them Peaches, Pearls and Pineapple in the same order lol. Baby realised that we've given 3 male characters female names! =x Anyway, was really surprised and touched by baby... I love you my baby, so much so much :) Although I didn't look happy or surprised, I truly was and you were really sweet to catch Cookie Monster for me :) After that, went to Macs to get baby's Mocha and we went home :)
My 1st official driving experience upon passing my driving test would be picking my sis up from school on Friday. The drive was not bad, quite smooth, but I still had to get used to the car haha. Saw Mr Ng's car behind mine but I guess he couldn't see me :( After that, my 2nd experience was sheer horror! My parents made me drive to the airport at night for dinner. The traffic wasn't exactly smooth and the journey wasn't exactly short. So, the faithful event took place when I wanted to do a lane change. There was this motorist quite far behind me and I guess he wanted to speed up while I was changing lanes and was shocked by my manouvre so, after I was safely in the lane I wanted to be in, he sped up, gave me a horn and... displayed his magnificent THIRD finger at me! WTH... I was petrified... stumped... mortified... I had only passed my driving test 2 days ago and this would be my first encounter on the road at night with my family car and I had to be treated like this?! My dad kept saying "welcome to the real world of driving", his pet phrase at the moment haha. Anyway, after that shocking experience, I've come to dislike motorists (really biased of me I know but it's just a natural reaction of a fresh driver). For the past week, I've been driving my family to places and I'm currently trying to master the art of parking the car without the poles and the triangles lol. It's a completely different experience I tell you all...
Going cycling tomorrow with mum and baby. Hope everything turns out fun and nice! Thursday would be our class girls (4 of us only...) outing at Settlers. Pray that everything turns out fine :)
I miss my baby... :(
More driving to come!
