soaked up even more of the sun today. thankfully, i didn't suck up much sea water as i was more experienced doing the capsize drill. however, i earned additional muscle aches and sunburnt areas and bruises and cuts. worst of all, i've got fibre glass cuts everywhere and i have difficulty getting rid of the fibre glass stuck onto my skin.i was underperforming today due to the unrecovered muscle aches i suffered yesterday. could not paddle straight as usual and i was always the one lagging behind, while the rest were already out front. the instructor got quite irritated with me i guess, because i was really slow and he kept telling me to "push out your fore arm, punch it out, you are using too much strength on your lower arm. you have a fore arm you know? so make use of it, if not, you'll just get tired more easily as you're wasting your energy. i don't want to repeat myself anymore". haiz, i just feel stupid because i can't even get the basic strokes of kayaking right. the best part is, i can't imagine i actually passed the course because i was so horrible with the paddling and especially the 'j-sweep' and the 'classic sweep'- the strokes which draw you nearer left or right. something gross was discoverd out sea today. a dead kitten was floating near the area where we practice our 'raft-x rescue'- a method of rescuing a capsized victim which consists of a main rescuer and an assistant rescuer. eeew gross man! yuyuan was like freaking out and saying "i don't want to capsize, i don't want to capsize!", as she was, unfortunately, the next one to play the role as the capsized victim. btw, i really suck as a rescuer, especially with my ultra slow reflexes and muscle aches which i had today. i think i really got many people irritated today, most of all, our instructor. he had to wait for me to kayak to the different destinations everytime. "horrigible, terrigible and vegetable".
